Repairs and Maintenance

Standard and concealed cistern repair

A cistern that constantly runs, fills slowly, or does not flush properly often requires replacement of only an individual mechanism.

Cistern faults can waste a significant amount of water and become worse over time. The problem is most often in the float, inlet valve, or flush mechanism.

Typical symptoms

  • water constantly runs into the toilet bowl
  • the cistern fills very slowly
  • the button does not activate flushing
  • the valve does not shut off the supply
  • leaking at the connection

Concealed cisterns

With concealed systems, the mechanism can usually be accessed through the opening behind the flush plate without unnecessarily damaging the finished wall.
