Faulty plumbing valve replacement
A valve that does not shut off the water, leaks, or is mechanically damaged can make any subsequent plumbing work much more difficult.
A functioning valve allows control of part or all of the plumbing system. When a valve leaks, is seized, or can no longer reliably shut off the water, replacement is recommended.
When should a valve be replaced?
- it does not shut off the water supply
- water leaks around the stem or connection
- the handle or mechanism is damaged
- the valve is corroded
- more reliable control of part of the installation is required
Inspection after installation
After replacement, the joints are checked for leaks and the valve is tested for proper opening and closing before the system is returned to normal pressure.
